The Program Assistant provides expert administrative management and technical and program support and assistance in the areas of travel, budget, timekeeping, compiling data and information, procurement of supplies and services, and preparing special reports. Work is accomplished through use of office automation equipment, methods and processes. The purpose of this position is to serve as the Program Assistant to the Mission Support Team (MiST). MiST supports multi-disciplinary program offices.

Qualifications
To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience qualifications for the grade at which you are requesting consideration.To qualify for the Grade 7, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-6 and it must include:
Experience providing clerical or administrative support and using automated office systems such as word processing, electronic mail and other communications software, data gathering and reporting, time and attendance reporting, travel planning and vouchering, and personnel and training request preparation.
To qualify for the Grade 8, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-7 and it must include:
Experience providing clerical or administrative support and using automated office systems such as word processing, electronic mail and other communications software, data gathering and reporting, time and attendance reporting, travel planning and vouchering, and personnel and training request preparation.
Experience providing assistance in the area of correspondence, including editing and formatting, for internal and external documents.
To qualify for the Grade 9, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-8 and it must include:
Experience coordinating administrative activities and/or services within an office or professional group, such as or related to monitoring administrative and/or clerical processes, recommending operating standards and/or procedures, and coordinating documents and correspondence that requires the attention of multiple stakeholders, key management and/or staff.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
