Duties
Typical work assignments include:
Plans and coordinates external training and education programs for the regional critical infrastructure community.
Facilitates regional training requirements workshops.
Develops requirements reports that include recommended milestones, resources, and schedules to provide training coordination with stakeholders.
Works with the Regional Director to develop and update necessary training Concept of Operations (CONOPS) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) documents.
Communicates all updates and changes to CONOPS and SOPs to regional office staff to ensure adoption in practice.
Coordinates with CISA Headquarters divisions and national training and education program managers.
to ensure regional efforts are aligned with national programs.
Directs exercise operations under the direction or supervision of the Exercise Leader to include ensuring personnel are in their appropriate locations and continuously PD/ SME 5 3 Page 2 of 5 monitoring the exercise area (physical location of exercise) for any safety issues to facilitate successful exercise conduct.
Conducts post-exercise After Action Reviews and develops written after-action reports according to HSEEP compliance standards to improve exercise performance.
Represents CISA by speaking at working groups, conferences, interagency meetings, and other forums to facilitate regional exercise and training coordination.
Conducts outreach and partnership building to achieve consensus and cooperation across the interagency.
Qualifications
You may qualify for the GS-12 grade level, if you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-13 level in the Federal service (obtain in either the public or private sector) performing all of the following duties:
1) Planning, coordinating and executing training, exercises, meetings or knowledge sharing events involving varied audiences; 2) Assisting in the development of briefing or training materials, coordination of venue and technology requirements, and post evaluation assessments; 3) Assisting in the coordinating of budget administration, procurement or contract services oversight of materials or services in support of training exercises.
You may qualify for the GS-13 grade level, if you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-12 level in the Federal service (obtain in either the public or private sector) performing all of the following duties:
1) Planning, coordinating and executing training, exercises, meetings or knowledge sharing events involving varied audiences; 2) Developing briefing or training and exercise materials, coordination of venue and technology requirements, and post evaluation assessments; and 3) Coordinating budget administration, procurement or contract services oversight of materials or services in support of training exercises.
National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Current or Former Political Appointees: The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.
