Duties
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
As a Senior Intergovernmental Affairs Officer you will use your knowledge of and experience with the Office of Intergovernmental and External Affairs to optimize business results and customer experience by:
Serving as the chief advisor to the Regional Director (RD) on external relations with elected and appointed government officials at the State, local and Tribal levels including both legislative and executive branches.
Following and supporting established Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) procedures, directives and policies, and if needed, modifies procedures and guidelines.
Exercising authority to speak for the Regional Director and making commitments on the RD's behalf.
Performing other duties at the direction and support of the broad responsibilities of the regional office.

Qualifications
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Minimum Qualifications: You must have one-year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service performing at least two (2) of the following:
Serving as an advisor or consultant on trends and issues affecting policies and programs associated with areas such as healthcare or human services;
Developing and presenting information to a variety of stakeholders on program initiatives/policies;
Interpreting policies, procedures, regulations and/or guidelines necessary for communicating healthcare and/or human services program matters.
