This announcement is in conjunction with the JBLM NAF HR Office Job Fair at the Eagles Pride Golf Course in Tacoma, WA on Tuesday, 12 SEP 2023 from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
This position is located at JBLM MWR Business Operations Division.
$1,000.00 CASH BONUS AVAILABLE! Selectees from this vacancy are eligible to receive a $500 cash award after 3 months & a second $500 cash award after 6 months of employment when they have worked an average of 20 hours per week.
Duties
Performs a full range of simple cooking by preparing and cooking items that require little or no processing such as pancakes, sausage, eggs, hamburgers, and fresh or canned vegetables. Makes cold sandwich fillings. Sets up and replenishes salad bar.
Prepares food by peeling, chopping, grinding, paring, cutting, slicing, dicing, pureeing, dredging, flouring, or breading. Weighs, measures, and assembles ingredients for regular and modified menu items.
Operates a variety of kitchen equipment using gas, electricity, steam or microwave heat sources. Disassembles, cleans and assembles component parts and accessories, following safety procedures to avoid personal injury and damage to the equipment.
Follows established sanitation procedures when handling food. Ensures that foods are stored at the correct temperatures to prevent bacteria growth.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
- Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
- Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.
- Satisfactory of a medical examination required.
- Satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
- Must be willing and able to work a schedule that may include working nights, weekends, and possible holidays.
Qualifications
1. Work experience in preparing foods and cooking simple foods and short orders in a cafeteria, restaurant, or mess.
2. Demonstration of the following work behavior is desirable:
Neatness and good grooming.
Dependability.
Ability to work under pressure.
