The purpose of this position is to provide administrative support to the Social Work Executive and Social Work service line. The incumbent must possess skills in resolution of issues or problems of a procedural or factual nature; knowledge of the theory and principles of management and organization including administrative practices and procedures. The incumbent actively participates by performing routine and complex administrative clerical work.
Duties
Major duties include but are not limited to:
Service line processing of all Social Work Service Line employees and students (incoming/outgoing) for VA Central Iowa Health Care System (VHACIH) including the CBOC ,locations.
Serves as the service line point of contact for all computer access requests (ADPAC)
Manages new employee/student onboarding process in coordination with Human Resources office to include ePAS, PIV sponsorship, credentialing process and User Provisioning.
Oversees ordering of all equipment for all new employees and students to include computers, smartphones, keys, and miscellaneous computer equipment.
Prepares clearance forms and follows through to ensure understanding of resigning/terminated personnel on process and expectations.
Administratively clears employees who are unable to come in to clear the station personally.
Performs Quarterly/Annual review of all staff access to include proper menus and security keys.
Serves as primary service line Timekeeper
Ensures all staff have access to Veterans Affairs Time and Attendance System (VATAS)
Accurately posts and codes time and attendance reports
Coordinates annual employee evaluation process within the Social Work service line supervisory staff
Processing mail/correspondence.
Preparation of Power Point presentations for service line staff for program needs to include acquiring.
Advanced specialized knowledge of all Microsoft Office programs; Word, Excel, Power Point, One Note, Access.
Complete minute notes for service line meetings
Research to obtain necessary information, provides feedback, and resolves problems independently

To qualify for this position at the GS-5 level, you must meet the following:
One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes: timekeeping, creating reports; maintenance of data and files; scheduling; preparing correspondence; record keeping; creating documents in excel, word, power point, and publisher.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
There is no educational substitution for the GS-05 level.
