About the Position: This position is located within the Education and Training Directorate, Defense Health Agency, Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas. A recruitment incentive may be authorized (i.e. Advanced Leave Accrual and/or Advanced In-Leave). Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.

Duties

Work under the general supervision of the Chief Learning Officer, Joint Medical Executive Skills Institute (JMESI) a who provides administrative direction and assignments in terms of broadly defined missions or functions. Responsible for the content, operation and maintenance of the JMESI distance learning program. Generate their own work and independently plans, organizes, and carries out assignments. Perform research, course/content updates, course/content maintenance, development, and delivery, linking content to the Joint Medical Executive Skills Program (JMESP) Core Competency Curriculum. Provide expert advice and recommendations on all matters relative to the coordination, integration, assessment, and synchronization of the JMESI distance learning program.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Approximately 25% travel may be required. Travel may involve local, remote and/or overnight.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify.
