You will serve as a SUPPORT SERVICES SPECIALIST (OA) for the CNATT UNIT NORFOLK.

Duties

You will process travel requests or vouchers for personnel through the Defense Travel System (DTS) or similar program. You will explain organization's programs, policies, or requirements to others. You will develop civilian performance plans required for evaluations, promotions, or awards. You will maintain mail function related files and documents for an organization. You will establish operating guidelines for staff providing support services (e.g., communications, mail, supplies, printing, facilities, space, and records).

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing computer systems such as Navy Standard Integrated Personnel System (NSIPS), Defense Travel System (DTS) and other Command Pay and Personnel Administrator (CPPA) systems. 2) Assuring to Safeguard Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) while coordinating, preparing and verifying those personnel documents and information is relayed to supporting organizations according to policies and standards. 3) Utilizing automated software to produce reports, correspondence and other written documents in draft form. 4) Implementing a full range of clerical, administrative and customer service support for Staff, Students, and Higher Echelon personnel along with files, notebooks, and automated records; and 5)Enforcing plans, distributes, coordinates, and monitors work assignments of others; evaluates work performance and provides feedback to other on their performance; ensures that staff are appropriately selected, utilized, and developed, and that they are treated in a fair and equitable manner. Education

In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in any field leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university.
