Duties

As a Supervisory Detention and Deportation Officer, GS-14 you will perform the following duties: The incumbent will serve as a Section Chief with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Office of Firearms and Tactical Programs. Responsible for program coordination and management of one or more sub-programs within the ICE Office of Firearms and Tactical Programs. Supervise the design, development, coordination, and execution of policy and/or services covering a broad spectrum of subject material. This includes but is not limited to: use of force, law enforcement procedures and techniques, procurement and dissemination of ammunition and/or law enforcement equipment, interagency coordination, and ICE operating policies and administration; Coordinate and manage one or more sub-programs within ICE's Office of Firearms and Tactical Programs in support of ICE missions. The objective of this position is to coordinate and manage support operations elated to use of force policy, tactics, equipment, and/or supplies allowing Officers/Agents, supervisors, and staff members to perform effectively, appropriately and efficiently in the execution of their assigned duties.

  • Probationary Period: This is a full-time permanent position (Career/Career-Conditional appointment). Upon appointment to this position, you may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.

You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the 13 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as: Providing administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of the Division; Establishing guidelines and performance expectations for staff members which are clearly communicated through the formal employee performance management system; Interpreting regulatory, policy, and procedural requirements for the organization; and Ensuring that subordinates are trained and fully comply with the provisions of the safety regulations.
