This position is part of the Plant Operations, Government Publishing Office in Washington,
District of Columbia.
Duties
Completes delivery and building services policies, projects and initiatives that are collaborative with working with various stakeholders.
Functions as a Contracting Officer?s Representative (COR) for contracts related to maintaining the central GPO activities.
Ensures the affective delivery of a variety of highly visible printed documents needed for official government business needs.
Leads projects, studies and major assignments related to delivery services and industrial cleaning that are needed by and are of significant interest to stakeholders.
Monitors the delivery operations of the Delivery Section and industrial cleaning to ensure that work assignments are accomplished in efficient and timely manner and personnel are used for maximum production output.
Oversees overall service delivery priorities and deadlines making necessary changes in operations when necessary.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship is Required.
- Selectee must successfully pass pre-employment prior to appointment.
- Selectee may be required to serve a one year probationary period.
- Males born after 12/03/59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Selectee must be able to obtain and maintain Moderate Risk background investigation.
- TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must meet time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. Applicants must have served 1 year at the next lower grade level or equivalent grade level of federal service to qualify.
Qualifications
To qualify for the GROUP MANAGER, PG -0301-14, you must meet the following requirements:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the PG-13 or higher grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector, which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position. Examples of specialized experience include:
Overseeing the development of employee skills through training programs and workshops;
Managing and coordinating efforts of a diverse team of professionals;
Evaluating the skills and performance of employees to determine areas for growth or promotion requirements; and
Leading, engaging, and coaching a diverse staff.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
