This position is located in the Division of Complex Institution Supervision & Resolution of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, responsible for the backup supervision of all insured depository institutions (IDIs) to include nonbank financial companies. Additional selections may be made from this vacancy announcement to fill identical vacancies that occur subsequent to this announcement.

Duties

Leads the development, design, implementation, and evaluation of CISR’s knowledge management program.  Coordinates with employees, managers, and executives throughout CISR and Corporate University (CU) to initiate the development of training, communication, or other efforts to support CISR goals and initiatives, and to assess the effectiveness of these efforts. Leads the development, implementation, and assessment of the annual CISR training plan, with extensive input and consultation with staff throughout the Division's functional areas and incorporates recommendations from stakeholders on applicable supervision and resolution readiness training issues. Leads teams of subject matter experts (SMEs), when necessary, to develop training or other solutions to address new regulations or guidance in risk supervision or resolution preparedness that impact Large Complex Financial Institutions (LCFIs) within CISR’s portfolio. Plans, schedules and assigns work to SMEs; monitors their progress; and reviews, accepts or rejects work products. Prepares and presents management reports evaluating the extent to which knowledge management policies and programs meet CISR objectives. Provides regular briefings to the CISR Director and other executive management. Collaborates with executives and managers throughout CISR and other divisions to achieve coordinated knowledge management necessary to fulfill FDIC objectives related to the supervision and resolution preparedness of LCFls. Works with external stakeholders, such as other regulatory agencies, regulated financial institutions, trade associations, and professional organizations, to recognize and meet new knowledge needs for CISR employees.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. CG-15: Applicant must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the grade 14 level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience coordinating the research, analysis, and reporting on financial or operational metrics and results at the corporate level, division level, or for an assigned program; monitoring the status of projects, formulating action plans, and delivering recommendations to senior leadership at the corporate level, division level, or for an assigned program and proposing solutions to existing challenges and emerging risks in an environment related to training, resources, communications, and/or DEIA.
