This National Guard position is for a SUPERVISORY IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK/SYSADMIN) (Title 32), Position Description Number D2729000 and is part of the G4, located in Draper, UT with the Utah Army National Guard.
This selecting supervisor is COL David L. Crockett.
IAW UTNGR 690-12 dated AUG 2022 and LIUNA-UTARNG CBA dated 11 OCT 2022, Priority will be given to all current, onboard employees of the UTARNG.

Duties
MAJOR DUTIES: This is NOT an all-inclusive list.
Serves as the SASMO IT Branch Section Chief.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities.
Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.
Selects or recommends selection of candidatesfor vacancies, promotions, details, and reassignments in consideration of skills and qualifications, mission requirements, and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and diversity objectives.
Develops, modifies, and/or interprets performance standards.
Holds employees responsible for satisfactory completion of work assignments.
Hears and resolves employee complaints and refers serious unresolved complaints to higher-level management.
Ensure the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team's strategies, goals, objectives, work plans and work products and services Articulate and communicate to the team theassignment, project, problem to be solved, actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues under review, and deadlines and time frames for completion; Coach the team in the selection and application of appropriate problem solving methods and techniques,provide advice on work methods, practices and procedures, and assist the team and/or individual members in identifying the parameters of a viable solution; Lead the team in: identifying, distributing and balancing workload and tasks among employees in accordance with established work flow, skill level and/or occupational specialization; making adjustments to accomplish the workloadin accordance with established priorities to ensure timely accomplishment of assigned team tasks; and ensuring that each employeehas an integral role in developing the final team product; Train or arrange for the training of team members in methods andtechniques of team building and working in teams to accomplish tasks or projects, and provide or arrange for specific administrativeor technical training necessary for accomplishment of individual and team tasks.
Plans and Directs Operations and Develops Policy.
Provides technical support and remote administration assistance for all subordinate units and Sustainment Automation Support Managemen tOffices (SASMO) within the State/Territory.
Provides advice to supervisor on significant issues and problems related to work accomplishment.
Develops, plans, and implements policy oninformation technology life cycle logistics for automated logistics information systems.
Attends meetings, conducts briefings, performscustomer assistance, coordinates any State/Territory responses required and ensures a cohesive position is presented through ARNG.
Performs Systems Administrator and Network Management Technical Functions.
Duties require extensive knowledge of systems administration management software, startup and shutdown procedures, disk management, backupand restore procedures, access control and security, installation and maintenance of system and application software, hardware and software configurations, and database software.
Performs tests to ensure the serviced database(s) efficiently collects, stores, and processes data.
Maintains system accreditation in support of automated logistics information systems.
Responsible for the day-to-day activities for all supported Automated Logistics Information Systems and technologies as a part of aforward deployed Enterprise Service Desk (ESD).
Resolves issues and problems concerning the effectiveness and efficiency of automated logistics information systems and program administrative and systemic work operations.
Represents the DCSLOG on DCSIM Configuration Control Boards (CCB).
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
Have experience, education or training that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process. Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems.
Specialized Experience GS-11:
Have at least 36 months experience that approaches techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization. Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls. Experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment. Experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion. And experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading, directing and assigning work of personnel.
