About the Position: Serve as the Administrative Officer for the Headquarters Northwestern Division (HQNWD), occupies a key staff position serving to assist and advise the Executive Office, Directorate of Regional Business and the Directorate of Programs in methods and procedures involved with administrative support systems.
Duties
Lead in the planning, directing, and coordinating of the procedural and administrative functions within the Directorates.
Serve as a subject matter expert in all administrative matters and processes.
Provide technical advice, training, and coordination of work performed by HQNWD administrative positions.
Direct, coordinate, and monitor administrative functions for short- and long-range planning necessary to provide responsive support to the Northwestern Division and outside activities and supported agencies.
Provide advice, counsel or instructions to employees and supervisors on both work and administrative matters
Serve as the NWD program coordinator for several key NWD programs. As the Action Officer for the Division?s workforce development, plans and executes the on- and off boarding program to include the sponsorship program, and succession planning.
Evaluate and analyze procedures and policies to improve effectiveness, and to ensure compliance with managerial and regulatory directives.
Responsible for overseeing the administration of the NWD awards programs to include the NWD regional awards and National-level functional awards.
Serve as action officer/liaison between the Civilian Personnel Office and Northwestern Division pertaining to all aspects of personnel management, organization/realignment, organization structuring, position management, etc.
Prepare and defends manpower requirements to include justification of current or requested spaces and grade level structures.

For the GS-12:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes overall administrative oversight for a large complex organization providing key assistance in vital services, such as providing administrative guidance to management on personnel actions and issues, travel, and program operations; Preparing a variety of agency documents, reports and responses; Formulating and assisting in the execution of annual overhead operating budgets, including regular reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
