About the Position: Serves as a member of the Senior Commander's special staff and is the designated individual who serves as the Senior Commander's principal authority, strategic advisor, and advocate for the SHARP Program and victims of sexual harassment, sexual assault, and associated retaliatory behaviors.
Duties
Provide assistance to Army units, and conduct analysis of policy/program effectiveness for the SHARP Program.
Update Corps-wide/Command-wide standard operating procedures (SOP) and review subordinate echelon Division/Army Command/Major Subordinate Command (MSC)/installation equivalent SOPs for conformance to policy.
Develop sexual assault and sexual harassment policy for the Corps/ACOM commander and coordinate these statements with the servicing staff judge advocate or legal advisor before providing to the Commander.
Work with subordinate Division/Command/MSC Program and Project Managers to ensure timely and accurate reporting of SHARP/Sexual Assault Data Management Systems (SADMS) sexual harassment and sexual assault data.
Develop funding streams to provide for personnel, training aids, resources, and external training resources (i.e., Sex Signals, Sexual Assault Prevention lectures; MVP - Mentors in Violence Prevention; etc) for all units.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be willing to accept a term position.
- Must be willing to serve a 1-year trial period.
- Position may require extended travel away from the normal duty station up to 60% of the time that may include locations Outside of Continental United States (OCONUS) on Temporary Duty or Temporary Change of Station orders.
- Must obtain and maintain a valid US Government issued Passport.
- This position is mission essential.
- Position requires a Secret clearance. Employees are required to self-report civilian arrests, the filing of criminal charges, and/or convictions of any criminal offense to their supervisors.
- Must complete all required training, certification, and be placed on appointment orders prior to having any victim contact or access to victim information.
- May be required to carry a cell phone and be on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week on a rotational basis, based on the needs of the organization.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
- Overtime may be required.
- Drug testing is required.
- Successful completion of a 7-week SHARP Course and completion of all requirements to obtain DoD Certification within 6 months of hire.
- Required to complete a 2 week Program Managers Course.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1.) Implement SHARP program initiatives, policies, and procedures as it relates to the management of the SHARP program; 2.) Provide expert advice regarding the SHARP program; 3.) Evaluate SHARP programs to identify and resolve systematic issues and assist with the development of new initiatives; AND, 4.) Lead multi-functional teams to include providing direction for the implementation of SHARP programs and policies that reinforces a culture of sexual harassment and sexual assault prevention, response, and accountability. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13)
