You will be responsible for formulating, planning, implementing and evaluating public affairs programs, events, and activities for the agency, for developing communication strategies; for establishing and maintaining positive working relationships within FMCSA and OST, general and specialized publics, and the media; and maintaining a high level of awareness of FMCSA and OST policies, programs, activities, goals and objectives in order to be a highly effective representative of the Agency.

Qualifications

To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience requirements.To qualify for the Grade 14, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-13, it must include: Experience working as a communications strategist to develop creative media plans that include press releases, social media, op-eds, fact sheets and other information to prepare executives for media interviews. Experience writing, editing and developing content. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Writing (†) - Recognizes or uses correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling; communicates information (for example, facts, ideas, or messages) in a brief, clear, and organized manner; produces written information, which may include technical material, that is appropriate for the intended audience.
