You will serve as a FINANCIAL MANGEMENT ANALYST in the Comptroller Department (C600), Budget Division (C620) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.
Duties
You will review and evaluate budget requests.
You will perform a variety of fiscal, accounting, or financial management duties and responsibilities
You will provide advice on effective and efficient and effective methods for the acquisition and use of funds.
Requirements

- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This is a Financial Management Level 1 certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
-Experience with advising the Comptroller on issues affecting department operations.
-Experience with working independently on routine, continuing assignments.
-Experience with financial practices, procedures, regulations, and policies.
-Experience with advising the Comptroller on administrative and human resources matters.
-Experience with serving as a representative on Norfolk Naval Shipyard Boards as a part of the hiring process.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
-Experience with developing new forms on selected subjects and providing assistance to others.
-Experience with working independently on routine, continuing assignments.
-Experience with analyzing and interpreting source information and applying it to specific areas of work.
-Experience with serving as a representative on Norfolk Naval Shipyard Boards as a part of the hiring process.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
GS-09
Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
or
Possession of an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to this position being filled.
