This position is located in the Division of Risk Management Supervision, Strategic Planning Resource Management Section of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the areas of personnel and administrative services for the Division of Risk Management Supervision in Headquarters and Regional Offices. Additional selections may be made from this vacancy announcement to fill identical vacancies that occur subsequent to this announcement.

Duties

Assists the Chief in providing direct advice and guidance to the Division of Risk Management Supervision (RMS) supervisors and managers nationwide on various policy and procedural aspects of administrative programs.  Provides guidance and interpretation of policies and procedures to the Chief, Administrative Management Section and managers. Resolves problems and develops and implements program improvements as required. Manages personnel activities. Assist management in determining the appropriate methods for recruitment and staffing of Advises management on the appropriate way to fill vacancies, and recommends disapproval of their requests when not in compliance with Corporate or RMS policy. Reviews conference requests to ensure compliance with Corporation policy and procedures for the preparation and administration of senior management meetings. Procures facilities; works with contracts, training, catering and printing to get timely service on specifics needs for the event. Handles logistics and accommodations for speakers and participants. Serves as event coordinator and is available during the event to handle any last minute needs of speakers and or participants. Prepares informational packages for the Director and Deputy Director. Participates in special studies and analytical projects related to current and proposed organizational and program initiatives. Gathers necessary information, and prepares briefing materials for the supervisor or other RMS senior management. Accountable for running CHRIS reports, updating organizational charts, monitoring tickler files and associated reports, updating and correcting staffing tables as necessary, and coordinating with supervisors and staff to ensure timely receipt of documents and completion of actions. Compares the division's data and reports with those from Corporate systems (NFC, CHRIS, etc.) to ensure accuracy. Works with the appropriate person to resolve the discrepancies and prepares exception reports to management, highlighting areas in need of management attention.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 12 grade level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is defined as experience overseeing and/or coordinating personnel management and administrative program operations specifically related to at least (4) of the following areas: position management, recruitment, staffing, travel, awards, personnel/payroll operations, and facilities.
