The selectee of this position serves as a Administrative Support Assistant (Office Automation) responsible for performing a variety of administrative and clerical support duties.
This position is located in the District of Columbia Superior Court / Washington, DC.
Duties
As a Administrative Support Assistant (Office Automation) at the GS-0303-6 grade level, some of your typical work assignments may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Initiating necessary documentation to complete enforcement of criminal case actions.
Coordinating movement of prisoners to appear in Federal courts.
Processing legal instruments to implement civil proceedings.
Mailing process documents which can be served by mail.
Receiving and screening calls and visitors to the office.

Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the experience required for the grade level to which you apply.
To qualify at the GS-06 grade level, you must meet the following:
Specialized Experience: Experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. You must have at least one year (12 months) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service performing the following duties:
Utilizing computers and software packages to accomplish tasks;
Receiving and referring telephone calls and visitors to an office;
Monitoring suspense actions to ensure deadlines are met;
Assisting with the review of criminal and/or civil cases for consistency and compliance with established rules and regulations of criminal and/or civil procedures; AND
Drafting legal documents ensuring correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
AND
Proficiency Requirement: In addition to meeting the experience requirement, you must be able to type 40 words per minute (WPM) based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors. You may meet this requirement at the time of application by self-certifying your proficiency. You may also present a certificate of proficiency from a school or other organization authorized to issue such certificates by the Office of Personnel Management local office. The hiring agency may verify proficiency skills of self-certified applicants by administering the appropriate performance test. Performance test results and certificates of proficiency are acceptable for 3 years.
