This position is located at the Chillicothe Department of Veterans Affairs facility, within the Facilities Management Service. The incumbent of this position performs as a Laborer requiring moderately heavy physical effort. The work requires the use of common hand tools and simple power equipment.
Duties
Duties include:
Lifting, moving, and assembling moderately heavy objects such as furniture and equipment by hand, hand truck or dolly.
Maintaining grounds using manual equipment to fill holes, rake leaves, or dig ditches.
Using simple powered equipment such push lawn mowers, edgers, trimmers, etc. to maintain grounds.
Collecting and emptying garbage cans. Incumbent operates large, industrial, walking-type power mowers (e.g., one or more cutting decks, mechanical controls, and attachable implements) and/or simple riding-type mowers (e.g., a fixed or floating cutting deck(s) with limited adjustments).
Incumbent shovels snow and performs other related duties as assigned.
Escorts third party contractors while in areas with sensitive information.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:30 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.

Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities.
