Duties

The portfolio of work for the SK-12 Diversity Specialist will be focused on assisting the OMWI Diversity Program Managers in managing the Employee Affinity Groups (EAGs), advising Regional and Headquarters Diversity Committees, and supporting programming with SEC divisions/offices on organizational diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) matters. The core duties and responsibilities will include: Support DEIA programs and initiatives in collaboration with Diversity Program Managers to drive learning, dialogue, and action among all employees. Assist in developing communication & marketing materials for key heritage month and other marquee events, including social media content for events and programs. Create and maintain OMWI's SharePoint site, tracking spreadsheets, toolkits, calendar, and communication channels that support efficient and effective operations. Liaise with the headquarters and regional office diversity committees, EAGs, and other DEIA groups and committees to coordinate programming, share events widely, host events, connect them to resources, to conduct reviews of DEIA documents. Support and coordinate internal and external events/programs, including partnering with other FIRREAs and government-wide organizations. Research and produce substantive materials on DEIA to prepare and create tools, resources, and presentation decks that are visually appealing and convey DEIA concepts in a clear and concise manner. Serve as OMWI's IT product owner, Contracting Officer's Representative (COR), and Government Purchase Cardholder in coordination with OMWI's leadership and Business Manager.

  • DIRECT DEPOSIT: All Federal employees are required to have Federal salary payments made by direct deposit to a financial institution of their choosing.
  • This position is in the collective bargaining unit.
  • This position is eligible to request telework in accordance with the SEC 's telework policy.
  • Existing Participants in the SEC?s Remote Telework Program are eligible to apply for this position. If selected, management will evaluate and communicate whether the position will allow for continued participation in Remote Telework.

Qualifications

All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: SK-12: Applicant must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS/SK-11 level: Assisting with diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility (DEIA) program/project administration, including timelines, resources, deliverables, and making recommendations for project adjustments as needed; Communicating and conveying complex or technical DEIA information (oral and written) to a variety of audiences; AND Managing multiple high-priority/high-visibility tasks, including overseeing multiple short-suspense timelines.
