This vacancy announcement will be used for Job Fair/Hiring Event purposes at the Eglin Golf Course, located at 1527 Fairway Dr. in Niceville on 20 SEP 23 from 0830-1430. This position is located at Eglin AFB Outdoor Recreation Facility Postal Point . Applicants that apply by COB 12 SEPT 23, May be pre-scheduled for interview at the Hiring Event.

Duties

The purpose of this position is to plan, direct, and manage the operation of the Postl' Point and Outdoor Recreation Equipment Rental activity. Serves as Outdoor Recreation Adventure Programmer. Within established policies and objectives; plans, develops, coordinates, and conducts a variety of recreation clinics and trips in support of a very large outdoor adventure program. Implements higher-level directives, selects activities and services to be offered in addition to required basic programs. Schedules, publicizes and promotes various clinics, trips and other activities. Ensures compliance with all state and local agencies regulatory requirements. Analyzes all related costs and calculates prices. Accounts for all funds involved in the program and makes recommendations to maintain a solid financial condition of activities. Develops and implements procedures to monitor, track and document program effectiveness and success. Utilizes various software programs in researching, networking, exchanging information and establishing historical files of adventure program. Resolves customer issues and complaints. Monitors and tracks customer feedback to evaluate and then ensure quality service and client satisfaction. Establishes, reviews, and evaluates purchase of supplies, equipment, and resale merchandise. Performs preventative maintenance on equipment and assists in the repairing and maintaining of all equipment in ODR. Assigns, directs and reviews the work of assigned employees and volunteers. Recruits, mentors, organizes, plans, and provides direction to volunteers. Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, the difficulty of the work to be performed, and the capabilities of employees. Evaluates work performance. Gives advice, counsel or instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters. Effects minor disciplinary measures, such as warnings and reprimands, recommending other action in more serious cases. Prepares employee work schedules and approves leave. Applies EEO concepts and requirements to maintain an appropriate working environment. Ensures appropriate safety and health practices are followed. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
  • This position has physical lifting requirement which requires the incumbent to complete a favorable pre-employment physical.
  • This position requires the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have experience which provided a working familiarity with the routines and procedures followed in group activities or programs and experience in equipment rental processes.. In addition, specialized experience working in an Outdoor Adventure Recreational Activity to include knowledge of equipment, rules and procedures in that area are required. Must have knowledge of federal, state and local safety regulations; e.g. boater's safety & camping safety. Knowledge in Wilderness First Responder, Leave No Trace, and American Canoe Association are desirable. Experience and familiarity with RecTrac and all Microsoft Office software programs are highly desirable. The work requires physical exertion and the incumbent must be able to bend, stoop, and lift items weighing up to 40 lbs. A valid driver's license is required. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 background investigation.
