Position is located in Pacific Beach, WA on a 47-acre property that includes 39 hotel rooms, 30 cottages, 43 RV spaces, food and bar service, gift shop and a recreation equipment rental program. Incumbent reports directly to the Naval Station Everett, WA, Morale, Welfare and Recreation Director.

Qualifications

Knowledge of management procedures and general business practices related to operational management of programs and effective utilization of facilities and equipment in a DOD environment. Knowledge and skill in directing the application of management principles, concepts, methodology to a variety of conventional and unusual, difficult and complex assignments, involving the full range of activities including stellar customer service, operations and maintenance, marketing and publicity, personnel and financial management, facility/accommodation improvements, and merchandise and equipment management. Extensive knowledge of the principles and techniques of business, recreation and hospitality such as would be gained through a full four-year undergraduate with business, recreation, hospitality (lodging and/or food/beverage) or similar degree from an accredited college or university. Knowledge of the military /civilian environment associated with working in the Department of the Navy is highly desirable. Knowledge in organizing, operating and promoting an efficient lodging facility to meet the needs of patrons. Knowledge of the principles of personnel management involving recruitment, selection, hiring, training and development and the general provisions for the needs of human resources in an organization. Must be a skilled manager with the ability to supervise a diverse subordinate management team effectively and efficiently. Knowledge in planning Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) budget requirements. Skill in conducting surveys and audits to identify program deficiencies, determining impact of changes to the services provided the patron community and repairs to the facilities, equipment and other corrective measures.
