This position is located in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Office of the Assistant Attorney General (OAAG). The Office of Justice Programs' (OJP's) mission is to increase public safety and improve the fair administration of justice across America through innovative leadership and programs, and OJP is headed by the OAAG. The incumbent serves as Deputy Chief of Staff to the Assistant Attorney General, Office of Justice Programs.
Duties
Serves as Deputy Chief of Staff to the Assistant Attorney General, Office of Justice Programs.
Advises the Assistant Attorney General (AAG) on the formulation of highly sensitive policy issues of nationwide importance.
Assists the AAG and Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General (PDAAG) with the implementation of Department of Justice and Office of Justice Programs policy initiatives and priorities and coordinates policy implementation within the Office of Justice Programs and with other Federal, state, tribal and local government entities.
Supports the AAG, PDAAG, and Chief of Staff with the day-to-day execution of their duties and responsibilities.

Qualifications
Specialized Experience:
Applicants must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level. Specialized experience is experience which is in or related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.
Examples of specialized experience include:
Coordinates criminal justice policy implementation with federal, state, tribal and local governments.
Develops, reviews and analyzes actual or proposed policies, legislation and legislative proposals, procedures and work products.
Provides guidance and assistance to executives and staff in developing new criminal justice, juvenile justice, and/or victim service programs.

Technical Qualifications:
Applicants who meet the basic entry and minimum qualification requirements, as described above, will be further evaluated on the following technical qualifications:
Knowledge of criminal justice policy
Oral communication
Written communication
Skill to plan, organize and implement plans and proposals involving substantial resources.
