Duties
Summary Cont'd: Technical Training courses utilizing approved curriculum IAW Air Education and Training Command (AETC) instructions in support of the Computer Programming course.
Instructs students through assigned blocks of instruction at basic levels in the Computer Programming courses.
Acts as the SME for Computer Programming course materials to help ensure they meet career field training requirements.
Plans, develops, executes, and evaluates a comprehensive and effective training program.
Maintains professional and technical proficiency and accomplishes special projects related to specialty area, to include staff surveillance visits to various training activities.

- Minimum degree requirement of an Associate?s Degree from CCAF or a regionally or nationally accredited postsecondary institution.
- In the discipline or in combination with appropriate work experience in computer programming and the methods and techniques of instruction.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, to include the Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR) for the GS-1712, Training Instruction Series.
BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
*This is a CCAF position*All faculty members of the Community College of the Air Force must meet minimum educational requirements as prescribed by the accrediting body Southern Association of College and Schools, Commission of Colleges; SACS-COC, i.e., all teachers must hold at least an associate's degree in order for the school to meet accreditation criteria. The degree should be in the teaching discipline. If the degree is not in the teaching discipline, the faculty member must have documented experience, course work, and/or other training in the teaching discipline. NOTE: You MUST submit a copy of your transcripts.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of computer system/ networking/electronic systems technology maintenance subjects, to include computer networking, network integration, C2 systems integration, IP routing, remote access, bandwidth management, crypto configuration, network optimization and testing, wireless voice/data/video and awareness of technological changes or new developments, such as would be gained through extended experience and on-the-job training combined with practice and study. Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of instruction and training aids and devices used in training programs.

EDUCATION: Master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR a LL.B. or J.D. Education must have major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of graduate level education and experience may be used to qualify for this position. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of a wide range of the principles and practical methods, techniques, and tools of instruction to teach a variety of students with a range of differences such as diverse ages, backgrounds, and levels of interest.
Knowledge of Computer Programming at a practical level to include the design, development, coding, maintenance, testing, configuration management, and documentation of application software systems, client-server, and web-enabled software.
Knowledge of tests and measurement principles, techniques, and objectives.
Skill in accomplishing special training studies and projects.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to analyze problems and develop appropriate solutions.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
