About the Position: This position is located with the Directorate of Human Resources (DHR) - Military Personnel Division, Fort Campbell, KY. Fort Campbell lies on the Kentucky/Tennessee border between Hopkinsville, KY & Clarksville, TN about 45 miles NW of Nashville. Both visitors & residents enjoy the shops & eateries of downtown Hopkinsville & Clarksville. The cost of living is lower than the average for all major U.S. cities.

Duties
Serve as the Chief of the Military Personnel Division with overall responsibility for the Military Personnel Management Program.
Manages a variety of interrelated automated mobilization planning, operations, authorizations, personnel, training and accessions systems.
Direct the development of performance standards, evaluates the performance of key supervisors, and reviews the evaluation made by subordinate supervisors.
Conduct reviews of program activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Requires a secret security clearance.
- Requires one year supervisory probationary period.
- Mission Essential Employees: These employees are expected to remain in contact with their supervisors at all times during and closure situation and may be called to work. Examples would include weather situations or furlough.
- Designated Key Position: This position has been identified as being a Key Position under the provisions of AR 690-11, Mobilization Planning and Management.
- A Key position is defined as any Army position that cannot be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of their organization to function effectively.
- Because of the essential nature of these positions, the Secretary of the Army, designee, shall designate such positions as Key positions and shall require that they not be filled by Ready Reservists or military retirees with recall obligations.
- Prior to occupying the position, Civilians must be exempted from recall to active duty because of Reserve or retired military obligations.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Directing work for Military Human Resources; 2) Providing Military Personnel Management and Advisory Service on a wide range of Personnel matters (e.g., casualty operations, ID cards, awards, reassignments, promotions, Soldier Readiness Processing, in- and out processing, and transition services for assigned military personnel and family members, etc.); 3) Managing Human Resource Systems; and 4) Directing the work of subordinate organization elements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
