Duties

You will provide advisory services for senior management, supervisors, staff, and operating officials on matters concerning environmental compliance and prevention programs. You will serve as a point of contact for environmental regulatory visits and inspections of assigned area of responsibility. You will respond to and oversee spill response team actions, manage on-scene coordination, and provide technical assistance for control, clean up, and resolution. You will plan and conduct analysis of complex enviornmental programs concerning effectiveness of current work operations/practices for control of enviornmental programs.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

GS-11: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Planning, implementing, and/or monitoring environmental programs and services (e.g., determining needs, evaluating program effectiveness, and adhering compliance with regulations; 2) Using data gathering and analytical techniques to collect and review technical information on environmental activities; and 3) Developing solutions to resolve specific environmental protection problems, projects, programs, or functions. GS-09: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Conducting environmental inspections, surveys, and site investigations to ensure compliance is within local, state, and federal regulations; 2) Identifying violations, providing recommendations to overcome violations, and preparing inspection reports; and 3) Gathering and analyzing environmental compliance data to prepare regulatory reporting in support of environmental media.
