Duties
The following are the duties of this position at the GS-13. If you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform all these duties, and will receive training to help you grow in this position.
As a/an Relocation Specialist, you will:
Provide written and oral guidance and assistance concerning the interpretation of real estate acquisition and relocation acquisition policies, rules and regulatory provisions inclusive of disaster recovery programs that include real property acquisition and replacement housing activities.
Provide technical advice and assistance to HUD and local agency staff in difficult and unusual relocation and real estate acquisition cases in order to reach effective solutions within Departmental policies and requirements.
Develop regulations, handbooks, notices or memoranda to promulgate operational policy and procedures, and ensures that they reflect a thorough understanding of current policy and statutory requirements.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience: For the GS-13 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
Implementing and interpreting regulations or policies relating to the Uniform Relocation Act (URA)
Examples of this would be:
Participating in project planning and coordination across government agencies involving the URA.
Developing recommendations to internal and external stakeholders about the URA
For the GS-12 grade level, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
Developing and drafting regulations, notices, handbooks, or other policy issuances for housing or real estate programs;
AND
Participating in project planning and coordination across state, local and federal agencies
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
