This position is with the St. Paul District. The Cabin Attendant position onboard the Dredge Goetz performs duties in assigned areas of the quarters boats. The official duty station is the Dredge Goetz, wherever it is located.
Duties
Cleans, mops floors; scrubs and waxes floors weekly using power waxing machine.
Cleans and scrubs washrooms, showers, and lavatories daily.
Washes walls and ceilings. Washes windows, inside and outside.
Power washes all assigned areas.
Makes up beds and prepares rooms for new crew members and visitors arriving.
Performs a variety of maintenance tasks.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.
- Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health, ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This is a seasonal position. Seasonal employment means annually recurring periods of work that typically last six months each year, but may vary depending upon the needs of management.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations (natural or man-made disaster) the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work.
- Overnight duty travel up to 75% of the time.
Qualifications
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the Direct Hire Authorities for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense, 5 U.S.C, Section 9905.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a Cabin Attendant~ without more than normal supervision. The ability to perform common tasks such as clean, mop floors; scrub and wax floors using power waxing machine; clean and scrub washrooms, showers, and lavatories, wash walls and ceilings, wash windows, inside and outside, light fixtures as needed; dust and wax desks and furniture. Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
Physical effort: Majority of time is spent inside. Physical exertion is required in scrubbing, waxing, and cleaning; chipping and scraping; loading and unloading supplies; and in making repairs.
Working conditions: Subject to skin irritations from using soaps and other cleaning materials. Must comply with safety procedures and regulations.
