About the Position: Cabin Attendants perform basic housekeeping duties onboard vessels.
Official duty station is the Dredge William L. Goetz, wherever it is located.
Duties
Cleans, mops floors; scrubs and waxes floors weekly, using power waxing machine.
Cleans and scrubs washrooms, showers, and lavatories daily.
Washes walls and ceilings. Washes windows, inside and outside.
Power washes all assigned areas.
Makes up beds and prepares rooms for new crew members and visitors arriving.
Performs a variety of maintenance tasks.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position
- This is a seasonal position. Seasonal employment means annually recurring periods of work that typically last six months each year, but may vary depending upon the needs of management.
- Business travel up to 75% of the time.
- Work on weekends and holidays may be required.
- Mission Essential position is not subject to administrative dismissal in emergencies based on inclement weather conditions or other emergency situations.
- This is a 1st shift position. Hours for 1st shift are from 6am to 6pm
- Moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Section 1117, NDAA FY21, Public Law 116-283 to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a Cabin Attendant without more than normal supervision. The ability to perform common tasks such as; cleaning, mopping and waxing floors weekly, using power waxing machine; cleaning and scrubbing washrooms, showers, and lavatories daily; washing walls, ceilings, windows and light fixtures as needed. As needed, dusting and waxing desks and furniture. Cleans and scrubs decks, laundry room, office, crew quarters and staterooms. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection. Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
PHYSICAL EFFORT Majority of time is spent inside. Physical exertion is required in scrubbing, waxing, and cleaning; chipping and scraping; loading and unloading supplies; and in making repairs.
WORKING CONDITIONS Works inside and outside with majority of time spent inside. Physical exertion is required in scrubbing, waxing, cleaning and making repairs. Subject to skin irritations from using soaps and other cleaning materials. Must comply with safety procedures and regulations.
