About the Position: Serves as the Engineering Division's Lead Engineer over the Supplemental Program and lead coordinator for the implementation of, tasks and work products and related efforts in support of delivering the projects under the Supplemental Program for Task Force Virgin Islands Puerto Rico (TF VIPR).
Duties
Coordinates the planning, developing, building, and sustaining of each of the projects within the Supplemental Program within constraints of budgets and authorizations.
Coordinates diverse multi-disciplinary teams evaluating the performance of USACE infrastructure. Reviews and comments on analyses completed by other technical specialists.
Represents Engineering Division in an effort to develop analysis and design tools. Develops methods and tools to support the Supplemental Program.
Performs administrative team leader responsibilities. Interprets and disseminates policies, regulations, and standards to subordinates.
Manages, oversees, coordinates, and reviews the analyses, studies, and other technical products prepared under the Supplemental Program.
Requirements

Basic Requirement for Lead Civil Engineer:
A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in engineering. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); OR (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.
In addition to meeting the basic education requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience at the GS-13 (or equivalent) level which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as, but not limited to: 1) Coordinating the implementation of tasks and work products and related efforts in support of delivering the projects under a Supplemental Engineering Program. 2) Reviewing analyses completed by other technical specialists, such as Engineers, to convey the team's findings and recommendations in meetings and dealings with other team leaders.
This position requires that you are currently registered as a Professional Engineer by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
