Duties
If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing substantive legal support to the Eastern District of Oklahoma.Typical work assignments will include:
Plan and organize technically adequate and accurate work assignments to subordinates.
Prepare work plans, performance standards, and performance evaluations, and ensure staff is advised of performance requirements.
Participates in the interview process for candidates and makes selections for subordinate supervisors and non-supervisory positions
Advises the criminal management about policy and operations of the District's Victim/Witness Assistance Program.
Develop a comprehensive program that improves public support of district victim/witness programs among targeted audiences who are traditionally opposed or indifferent to law enforcement and prosecutorial activities (e.g. illegal immigrants, significantly disadvantaged and deprived socio-economic groups on the fringes of society; and residents of high-crime areas who are legitimately fearful of assisting law enforcement activities.
Collaborates with law enforcement personnel, Federal investigative agency victim specialist and social service providers
Conducts victim assistance workshops, seminars, presentations, and meetings with law enforcement personnel, Federal investigative agency victim specialist, state, tribal, and local officials, and members of community organizations.
Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress.
Requirements
- You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation
- You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.

- If selected, you may be required to complete a one year probationary period.
- Time-in-Grade: Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.
- You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement and before placement in the position.
- If selected, you will be subject to the satisfactory completion of a one year supervisory or managerial probationary period unless this requirement has been met previously.
Qualifications
GS-12
To be eligible at the GS-12 level, you must meet the following conditions, as defined below:
Specialized Experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level. Examples of specialized experiences may include the following: experience collaborating with victim service providers (federal, state and local law enforcement) to provide resources and services to victims of crimes prosecuted in state, tribal or federal courts; generating statistical and quantitative reports and analyses of program activity; providing in-court support to include courtroom tours prior to testimony and providing safe waiting areas for victims and witnesses; assisting victims by securing specialized victim services (such as interpreters, special transportation, return of property being held as evidence, and etc.,); and providing authoritative advice and guidance to other victim witness assistance staff.
Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
