The incumbent serves as a first level technical expert on Federal Employee Benefit Programs. Incumbent provides information to employees, supervisors, and managers by interpreting program requirement of such benefit programs and may conduct one on one private meeting, group benefits, training sessions, seminars, and orientation programs on all aspects of Federal Employee Benefit Programs by providing technical support and clerical assistance.

NOTE: Applicants must apply separately to each announcement in order to be considered for all grades Conducts orientation for new employees with procedures and regulations relating to their benefits. Assist employee asking information concerning benefits including retirement and insurance. Provides information to employees and supervisors. Provides forms and informs employees on complete of how to submit forms. Updates bulletins, brochures and forms on program benefits. Receives visitors, employees and telephone calls and provides information about benefits, application procedures, requests for personnel forms. Refers call to appropriate staff in Human Resources. Selects situations which can be answered with reference to team supervisor or other client services staff. Receives and review all incoming mail and correspondences, routes to appropriate staff. Composes, corresponds and reviews all documents for formatting, grammar, and spelling errors. Receives and review all incoming mail and correspondences, routes to appropriate staff. Uses application software/word processing, electronic typewriter, and/or other office automation equipment and various software programs to create documents. Establishes and maintains databases, to include inputting, storing, maintaining, and displaying data for the purpose of providing personnel information to services activities.



To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Working in an office as a clerk or assistant where you performed duties such as answering questions and advising applicants of job opportunities, explaining application procedures, and providing administrative assistance. OR 4 years of education above high school Time In Grade - Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
