About the Position: Incumbent serves as the Deputy to the Chief of the Navigation and Operations Branch, whose responsibilities are to provide the national leadership and direction for all aspects of the Civil Works Navigation Program, including operation and maintenance of all Corps navigation assets, dredging, and floating plant. Incumbent provides oversight and leadership direction for an interdisciplinary team of experts.

Duties

Serves as Deputy to the Chief of the Navigation Branch, whose responsibilities are to provide the national leadership and direction for all aspects of the Civil Works Navigation Program. Navigation Business Line Manager and primary point of contact for budget development, defense, execution, budget guidance, and reporting. Provides oversight of Navigation research and development, surveying and mapping products, and for navigation data support. Leads engagements on the Navigation Program with senior leaders in USACE, ASA(CW), Congressional Staff, external stakeholders, industry, and non-governmental entities. Consults with the Navigation Chief on matters of an unusual and controversial nature, or which require higher-echelon interpretation or formulation of policy. Leader in the organizing the Navigation Branch to maintain daily operations to assure efficiency and economical operations of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Navigation program. Provides and exercise supervisory authority to a staff of senior experts of various professional disciplines.
