About the Position: This is a Program Assistant, GS-0344-07 position with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Southwestern Division, Fort Worth District, Real Estate Division. This is a full-time and permanent position located in Fort Worth, TX.
Duties
Provides financial support for three branches (Planning and Appraisal, Management and Disposal, and Acquisition).
Responsible for processing commercial accounts payable transactions involving various methods of payment of contractual
goods/services.
Provides technical assistance to staff and keeps abreast of current regulations, policies, and procedures. Assists in the control and
management of Real Estate Divisions financial accounts.
Serves as the primary point of contact for customers.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Temporary Duty (TDY) Travel is required up to 25% of the time.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) utilizing an automated financial management system to input or retrieve cost/budgetary data; AND 2) generating financial reports, graphs, or documents. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
OR
Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business Administration, Finance, and Accounting.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: The position being filled is a 1 grade interval position, which is being filled at the GS-07 level. Normally applicants are required to have specialized experience and time in grade at the GS-06 level for this series and grade. The organization does not have any permanent GS-06 positions so for this recruitment applicants may qualify for the GS-07 level if they possess 1 year of specialized experience and time in grade at the GS-05 level. Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
Education
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
