This position serves in the Dental Service for the Cheyenne, Wyoming VA Health Care System.

Duties

Major duties of this position include, but are not limited to: Prepares clinic profiles for the Clinic profile manager to enter into the system for providers or Clinic closures as needed. Maintains and takes meetings minutes. Serves as main timekeeper for the Dental Service Line and back up time keeper as needed for other services. Utilizes Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel spreadsheet, PowerPoint, Visio, and other software packages. Creates agendas, reports, letters, policy memorandums for concurrence and compiles presentations. Completes Form 2237 (Request, Turn-In and Receipt for Property or Services) to purchase dental disposables. Serves as Primary Records Management Liaison. Ensures the Dental clinic is stocked as needed. Prepares daily closure requests for Dental staff, keeping the staff, Dental Chief and AO informed of activation of changes. Screens all incoming official mail and routes to appropriate dental staff for necessary action. Runs the open encounter report daily for all providers and facilitates the closure of missing encounters. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. Qualifications

To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/08/2023. Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. You may qualify based on your experience as described below: Specialized Experience: You must have one (1) full year of specialized experience that equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties the Program Support Assistant at the GS-06, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-05) in the Federal service. Specialized experience includes, but not limited to: planning, organizing, and coordinating work in situations with multiple, diverse demands; applying quality assurance and Joint Commission requirements necessary for compliance; interpreting governmental regulations and guidelines to formulate service policies, answer service-related questions, or solve service-related problems; utilizing general medical and dental terminology commonly used in dentistry; utilizing grammar, punctuation, spelling, capitalization, format, and other requirements necessary to type letters, memoranda, and other forms of documentation correctly; locating and summarizing data from files necessary to complete reports; communicating effectively and appropriately with all customers. NOTE: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year start/end dates AND hour worked per week. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position: AccountabilityComputer SkillsCustomer Service (Clerical/Technical)Manages and Organizes Information Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religions; spiritual; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment. Physical Requirements: The work requires sitting for extended periods as well as standing, bending and carrying light items such as books, papers, and small items.
