LOCATION: This position is located in the Atlanta Regional Office, Center for Automation, Security and Integrity (CASI), MI Team located at 61 Forsyth St. SW Atlanta, GA 30303. Out-stationing may be available for eligible employees who meet the requirements as determined by agency policy. TOUR OF DUTY: Flextime/Full-time /Alternate work schedules may be available. Incumbent may be required to travel. TYPE OF POSITION: Temporary; NTE one-year; maybe extended; may become permanent.

You may also view the full position description on the Agency intranet at the following link: PD Search 6B201A: This is a developmental position leading to the full performance level of GS-12. Closer supervision and technical guidance and/or on-the-job training are provided. Duties are gradually broadened so the incumbent is eventually performing all of the duties of the full performance level, position description number 6B2010. At the full performance level, the incumbent independently, or as a member of a team, plans, develops, implements and monitors a variety of projects and analyses relating to management information.

Qualifications

COTA ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: COTA positions can only be filled by reassignment or change to lower grade. Applicants must currently be at permanent grades GS-11 or above to be considered for this position under COTA. COTA DEVELOPMENTAL PLAN: An individual training plan will be designed for the individual selected and will cover the entire training period. The plan will specify developmental assignments involving on the job training as well as formal training courses. The training plan will correspond to the particular needs of the individual selected in order to meet the requirements of the target position. COTA - Length of Training: Length of training will vary. When a COTA employee completes the designated training and work experience that has been identified in his/her IDP, the employee will be considered fully qualified for his/her current position. COTA Required Qualifications: Applicants who do not meet the full qualification requirements will be considered for this position under the provisions of the SSA Career Opportunities Training Agreement (COTA). Applicants considered under COTA must meet modified qualification requirements described in this announcement to be eligible to participate in the COTA Training program for this position. COTA Qualifications: In order to be considered, an applicant must: GS-11: Be an SSA employee permanently at grade GS-11 or above. GS-12: Be an SSA employee permanently at grade GS-12 or above. Lack the full specialized experience required as specified under the full qualifications section of this vacancy announcement. Applicants who meet the full qualifications listed below will not qualify under COTA and will be ineligible for consideration for this vacancy. GS-12: Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-11 level, or equivalent, which is in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience includes ability to research and analyze technical problems and processes in order to recommend solutions to issues; ability to communicate orally; and ability to communicate in writing. FULL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS ***these qualifications are being listed for information only*** GS-11: Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-09 level, or equivalent, which is in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience includes knowledge of management information systems and reports; skill reviewing management information reports; ability to make recommendations on management information systems and reports; ability to research and analyze technical issues; ability to communicate orally; and ability to communicate in writing. GS-12: Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-11 level, or equivalent, which is in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience includes reviewing and interpreting management information reports and data. Implementing and maintaining an integrated management information system by planning, coordinating, conducting and evaluating complex studies and analyses which identify specific operating areas to be measured and workloads to be controlled. Providing comments on proposed changes to management information policies and procedures; ability to communicate orally and ability to communicate in writing. Knowledge of Management Information systems and reports are required. Modified Qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Time in grade requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement. NOTE: COTA positions can only be filled by lateral reassignment or change to lower grade. You must currently be a Permanent GS-11 or above to be considered under the COTA.

Education

GS-11: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree, or LL.M. in a field that is directly related to the position.

GS-12: There is no substitution of education for experience at the GS-12 level.

Note: One year of full-time graduate education is considered to be the number of credit hours that the school you attended has determined to represent one year of study. If this information cannot be obtained from your school, we will consider 18 semester/27 quarter hours to be equal to one year of full-time study. If selected, you may be required to provide your official college transcripts prior to the effective date of the personnel action placing you into the new position.
