This position is organizationally aligned to the Caregiver Support Program, Social Work Service. The primary duties of the Program Support Assistant (PSA) are program development, assist with data collection, analysis of trends, and implementation of best practices.
Duties
The CSP is a program whose primary goal is to provide clinical evidence-based services and interventions to caregivers, Veterans, and staff; provide education on caregiver issues and relevant VA benefits; provide community outreach; conduct resource development and provide evaluation/consultation on issues related to caregiving for returning service members and Veterans of all eras. Duties include, but not limited to:
Coordinates and implement a comprehensive outreach initiative designed to facilitate the delivery of services to caregivers and their Veterans at their respective locations.
Provides resources and referrals to Veterans and caregivers, who are seeking caregiver support services, regarding program services, concerns, appeals of decisions and ratings.
Monitors and reviews tracking information for caregivers and Veterans who utilize community and VA referrals and resources at each facility via database developed, the Caregiver Record Management Application (CARMA) IT system, and/or CPRS.
Locates, organizes, develops, and reports on all data for performance measures presents to the care team and the Caregiver Support Program staff weekly. Compiles quarterly reports which are presented to VAMC leadership and the VISN program office.
Creates CARMA cases with data input to initiate the clinical program application. Makes demographic corrections in CARMA and CPRS. Upload documents. Assist with MPI corrections in collaboration with eligibility staff.
Produces a wide range of documents using a variety of office automation technologies. Applies advanced work processing software to materials involving complex formats such as automatic generation of indices and tables of contents, importation of graphics, charts, or special symbols or precise alignment of multiple columns.
Prepares files and charts in a timely manner, ensuring that all relevant correspondences and clinical material pertinent to CSP are in place. Scans and uploads documents into CARMA, and files documents.
Serves as timekeeper for CSP, maintaining time and leave records as needed and directed by position supervisor.
Prepares yearly funding requests. Coordinates TDA requests with local fiscal department, VISN office, National CSP Program Analyst and the assigned CSP staff. Ensures local program is compliant with funding updates/changes.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm
Telework: VA supports the use of telework as a way to help attract and retain talented individuals in public service, increase worker productivity, and better prepare the agency to operate during emergencies. This position may be authorized for telework. Telework eligibility will be discussed during the interview process.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 09/11/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-7 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-6. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your specialized experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-6 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Providing resources and referrals to Veterans and caregivers, who are seeking caregiver support services, regarding program services, concerns, appeals of decisions and ratings; Monitor and review tracking information for caregivers and Veterans who utilize community and VA referrals and resources at each facility via database developed, the Caregiver Record Management Application (CARMA) IT system, and/or CPRS; Compile quarterly reports which are presented to VAMC leadership and the VISN program office; Screen all calls and visitors for the CSP, answering most questions on established policy or routine matters; Prepare yearly funding requests. Coordinates TDA requests with local fiscal department, VISN office, National CSP Program Analyst and the assigned CSP staff..

Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary and is performed by sitting, standing, bending, and stooping. The
employee is required to obtain records from files, and carry files, manuals, and other light objects.
