Thess positions are Administrative Support Assistant, GS- 0303-6/7. There are 2 vacancies, with one opening each in Carr, Colorado at the National Black-footed Ferret Conservation Center or Cheyenne, Wyoming at the Wyoming Ecological Service Field Office.
This position is also open to status candidates under announcement R6-23-12089327-CN-MP. You must apply to each announcement separately if you wish to be considered under both recruitment methods.
Duties
Salary will be based upon duty station and locality pay once selected. Locality tables may be found at: Federal Pay Tables 2023
As a Administrative Support Assistant your duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Prepares obligations, reviews and processes invoices and vouchers, and enters information into an automated administrative accounting system.
Uses government credit card to purchase necessary supplies and services by proper procurement methods.
Prepares, maintains, and ensures accuracy of time and attendance reports through the electronic time and attendance system.
Coordinates with Regional Payroll Coordinator on payroll problems.
Coordinates travel schedules, arrangements, justifications, and necessary authorizations for all staff.
Prepares and submits all travel vouchers.
Assists in developing and formulating field level budget including estimates, justifications, and all financial activities.
Analyzes historical budget and financial data as a preliminary to budget preparation. Identifies problem areas and makes recommendations for corrective action.
Assists in preparation of pertinent personnel action forms.
Provides guidance and assistance in all personnel matters.
Coordinates and schedules staff training and trains clerical personnel.
Provides guidance and assistance on applicable procedures, instructions, and regulations to other personnel assigned to the field station.
Prepares and supervises the preparation of reports associated with property, training, vehicle use, energy, equipment, safety, travel and various other special reports as requested.
Supervises the inventory of all accountable property. Conducts a physical inventory of all accountable property.
Requirements

Qualifications
Only experience and education obtained by 09/14/2023 will be considered.
In order to qualify for this position you must possess the Minimum Qualification.
Minimum Qualification [GS-06]
One year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility equivalent to grade GS-05 in the Federal service. Experience includes: (1) Using various word processing and spreadsheet software to create document and spreadsheets; (2) Assisting with procurement of services and supplies; (3) Assisting with the preparation/reviewing of travel vouchers; (4) Serving as a timekeeper using an automated timekeeping system; (5) Independently preparing forms, documents, correspondence; and (6) Assisting in the preparation of budgets. NOTE: To qualify under this option, your resume must contain sufficient detail to prove you have one-year experience equivalent to the GS-05 level performing these duties.
Minimum Qualification [GS-07]
One year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility equivalent to grade GS-06 in the Federal service. Experience includes (1) Budget related duties including updating and tracking budget and financial data; (2) Preparing finance/budget related reports; (3) Preparing and reviewing correspondence and/or reports requiring prescribed formats, proper grammar and spelling; (4) Purchasing supplies and equipment; (5) Maintaining suspense tracking of deadlines for the office; and (6) Maintaining files/records and property management. NOTE: To qualify under this option, your resume must contain sufficient detail to prove you have one-year experience equivalent to the GS-06 level performing these duties.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
