About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25.
This position is with US Army Cyber Command, Asst. Chief of Staff G-2, serving as Supervisory Security Specialist. Primary duty location is in the Ft.Meade, MD area with up to 20% duty at locations within the NCR to include Ft.Belvoir, VA.
Duties
Supervises, plans, develops, implements, and monitors the overall security programs for ARCYBER which covers Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and collateral security programs within the NCR.
Serves as Site Security Manager (SSM) for the duration of SCIF project(s) to ensure compliance with the latest version of IC Tech Spec for ICD/ICS 705 construction design and security standards.
Serves as Security Manager and Special Security Representative (SSR) for Army Cyber Command (ARCYBER) with responsibility to develop, implement and manage all aspects of a comprehensive security program for the National Capital Region (NCR).
Serves as Special Security Representative (SSR) for Army Cyber Command under direction of the ARCYBER SSO managing security projects, and national level security programs for the NCR.
Primary duty for this position is in the Fort Meade, MD area with up to 20% duty at outlying duty stations within the area to include Fort Belvoir, VA. Supervises a team to establish and maintain a program encompassing multiple ARCYBER organizations.
Responsible for planning and executing the security activities required to support the complex NCR technical security mission of the organization under the direction of the ARCYBER Command Security Manager (CSM) and SSO.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a Tier 5 investigation with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
- Geographical Location. Primary location in and around the Fort Meade, MD area with up to 20% duty at various outlying duty stations within the NCR to include Fort Belvoir, VA.
- May require Temporary Duty (TDY) travel up to 20% of the time
- Must undergo and successfully complete an initial and periodic Counter-Intelligence Polygraph (CI Poly) examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI).
- Must be able to obtain and maintain access to NSA and Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) accredited secure facilities and networks. [Military and External Affiliates Division (MEAD) process.]

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-13).
