The Federal Judicial Center is seeking to fill up to three temporary full-time Data Resource Assistant positions to work within the Research Division. The term of these positions is expected to be up to fifteen months, with the possibility of extension at the Center's discretion.
Duties
The Research Division conducts qualitative and quantitative research to assist the federal judiciary, including the Judicial Conference of the United States. The division's work examines how current federal court policies, practices, and procedures operate and the potential effects that changes in those activities might have on the administration of justice. It also produces resources for judges and the judiciary on legal developments, case management, and other topics.
The incumbent serves as a data resource assistant to the research division and performs a variety of duties under the general supervision of the Director of Research and the immediate supervision of a project director, including, but not limited to: 1) entry and verification of data from reporting forms, questionnaires, and other documents; 2) review, compilation, and verification of data received electronically; 3) monitoring completeness of data received from study participants; 4) organizing and filing electronic and hard-copy data forms and other study materials; 4) duplicating, collating, and mailing materials to study participants; and 5) other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS:
At least three years of experience in responsible clerical, office or other work indicating an ability to perform tasks expected of a data resource assistant.
Strong organizational, inter-personal, and communicative skills.
Possess the ability to give strict attention to detail while maintaining an accelerated pace.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience using Microsoft Office products (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams), Adobe Acrobat Professional, and database management applications (e.g., FileMaker Pro) is highly desirable.
Some flexibility in tour of duty hours is also desirable.
