About the Position: The Anniston Army Depot is located in Anniston, Alabama in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain halfway between Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, AL just off Interstate 20. The Depot is the largest employer in Calhoun County with approximately 4000 employees.
Duties
Serve as IT Specialist for the Business Division.
Prepares and coordinates purchase requests for basic information technology equipment/services.
Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Works closely with vendors, and engineers on equipment installation and removal.
Review contracts for proper contract terminology and correctness.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE-450) is required.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
- Incumbent is required to have and maintain within 6 months of being employed, all DoD Certification for IAM level II IAW DoDI 8410.01 abd DoD 8570.01-M.
- 5% TDY may be required.
- One-year probationary period may be required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized and Other Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: Providing IT support, technical advice and solutions; managing Information Technology upcoming or ongoing projects, knowledge of Information Technology acquisition procedures; Developing procedures to evaluation and integration automated equipment, utilization costs and purchases. Communicates and coordinates IT projects with contractors, personnel, management and higher headquarters. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09.) The specialized experience must include, or be supplemented by, information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined.
