Duties
Plan, design, and complete visual information projects, primarily in for form of images, graphics, videos and animations, aimed at communicating visually, digitally and mobile-first.
Advise, coordinate and provide guidance to customers to interpret work requests.
Clarify abstract information to audiences of diverse interests and backgrounds.
Provide expert advice on artistic standards for images and graphics designed for digital media products using various hardware and graphic design software platforms.
Apply the tools and methods of computer graphics technology to maximize the quality, efficiency, speed, and cost effectiveness of visual information creation, automation, and transfer of viable end products.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Basic security clearance.
- Temporary Duty (TDY), approximately 10% of the time
- May be required to complete a one year probationary period.

GS-09: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: Experience in digital media content creation, experience with digital media design applications, and print media production and publication.
GS-11: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: Work which includes using a variety of methods, techniques and media to create social media content, produce visual graphics in order to communicate design ideas, develops ideas and techniques that present subject matter information or ideas to a target audience. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-9).

Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other fields related to the position. Some positions may also require subject-matter knowledge of medicine, science, or technical equipment.Advanced training in a vocational school, technical institute, or art institute above the high school level in one of the fields listed above is creditable as general experience on a month-for-month basis.
