This position is located in the Division of Resolutions and Receiverships, Receivership Operations Investigations Section of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the areas of discharging statutory duties and maximizing recoveries, regarding professional and criminal liability of individuals on all financial institution closings.

Duties
Ability to analyze insurance policies to determine professional liability claims and assist in the negotiation of settlements with insurance companies, and/or other defendants.
Knowledge of bank administration and operations, including financial institution general ledger record keeping; data processing; loan processing/documentation, credit/collateral analysis and real estate appraisal analysis; bank examination and/or auditing procedures.
Ability to establish and maintain relationships.
Skill in the preparation and execution of executive management’s decision, business cases, formal and information correspondence, and analytical investigative reports and recommendations.
Knowledge of management and oversight techniques; settlement negotiation or alternative dispute resolutions; and investigations decision making committees or users groups in order to perform the functions of investigations including claims development and case preparation; managing the investigation of claims simultaneously.
Knowledge of legal concepts, terms, and the litigation process for claims.
Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG/GS 14 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience leading investigative process; analyzing financial institutions’ insurance policies to determine professional liability claims; reviewing and completing professional liability financial analysis; resolving issues found in the investigative process; interacting with stakeholders to address investigatory findings; and collecting documentation to prepare business cases, formal and informal correspondence, and investigative reports.
