You will serve as a FINANCIAL TECHNICIAN in the FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT DIVISION of COMMANDER NAVY REGION MARIANAS. This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

You will maintain financial management systems for administrative services (e.g., travel, contracting, budgeting, civilian personnel support). You will reconcile and manage accounts and accounting data in preparation of reports. You will review financial documents (e.g., reports, records, data, or other material) for consistency and validity. You will review a variety of financial transactions (e.g., contracts, funding documents, travel vouchers, progress payments) for compliance with agency standards. You will develop financial processes to promote compliance with Department of Defense (DoD), Department of the Navy (DON), and Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) regulations.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing account maintenance and accounting support requiring a basic understanding of accounting systems (i.e. SABRS, STARS-FL), Financial Management Regulations (FMR) or applicable policies, and procedures to examine, verify, maintain, and reconcile financial accounts, accounting data, and reports..
