You will serve as a FINANCIAL TECHNICIAN in the FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT DIVISION of COMMANDER NAVY REGION MARIANAS. This announcement uses the Certain Personnel of the DoD direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Duties

You will perform account maintenance and accounting support work requiring a basic understanding of accounting systems, policies and procedures to examine, verify and maintain and reconcile accounts and accounting data. You will determine pay, maintain timekeeping records and complete reports pertaining to civilian appropriated fund employees of the Federal Government. You will answer requests and provide advice to employees, supervisors, financial and personnel specialists on timekeeping rules, regulations, and procedures. You will perform specialized work consisting of examination of documents for accuracy, adequacy of documentation, compliance with regulations for goods and services provided to or by the Government.

  • This is a Financial Management Level I certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Overseeing and managing daily operations for primary financial feeder systems {e.g. Standard Labor Data Collection and Distribution Application (SLDCADA) and the Defense Civilian Payroll System (DCPS)}, processing payroll actions, resolving pay issues, AND performing account maintenance and accounting support for an organization..
