This position is located in the Division of Resolutions and Receiverships of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the areas of the nation's financial system. Duties

Oversees the development, and implementation of strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the operational readiness of deposit insurance determination processes for large Insured Depository Institutions (IDI). Plans and executes deposit insurance determination simulation exercises for large IDIs to ensure preparedness of strategies, plans, and technological resources. Analyzes the results of simulation exercises to identify areas for improvement and develop data-driven strategies for enhancing accuracy and effectiveness. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to regularly audit and recommend updated data specifications for the deposit insurance program, with a focus on improving the accuracy of insurance determination and ensuring effective protection of depositors' funds through up-to-date industry knowledge. Provides leadership to the team responsible for analyzing of deposit insurance transactions and, if necessary, coordinates additional information from depositors including collecting any deposit insurance overpayments. Serves as the lead for lower graded staff responsible for the analysis and termination of highly complex failed bank employee benefit plans. Performs analyses, develops reports and drafts recommendations regarding appropriate actions and potential results for unusual and complicated insurance determinations and potential results for non-deposit claims determinations. Determines the appropriate actions necessary to terminate highly complex failed bank benefit plans given unusual or complicated circumstances. Maintains and analyzes detailed accounting of highly complex insured deposit records and prepares reports of the deposit liability transactions for settlement with the acquiring financial institution or agent bank.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here. CG-15: To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS/CG-14 grade level or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is defined as experience (1) analyzing financial data and developing reports; and (2) overseeing the development, and implementation of resolution/closing strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure operational readiness for claims determinations for Large Insured Depository Institutions; AND experience (3) reviewing and analyzing depository data of large and complex financial institutions and required documentation to calculate deposit insurance in accordance with applicable FDI Act rules and regulations OR; (4) reviewing, analyzing, and making recommendations for action to be taken on non-deposit claims.
