Duties
Supervising, planning, organizing, coordinating, directing and integrating the work of a staff responsible for assuring implementation of the long-range goals and objectives.
Supports the DLA procurement program and ensures work is accomplished in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and directives.
Provide technical/quality support to Engineering Support Activities (ESAs), Military Services Customers, and other DoD/DLA internal and external customers.
Review technical, contracting and quality history data and develops contract quality provisions specific to each item.
Review contractor required inspections and tests for compliance.
Coach, mentor and motivate the workforce being directed by fostering innovation and initiatives while maintaining strategic focus and resource stewardship in the workplace.
Determine quality trends, causes of recurring deficiencies, and recommends corrective actions or changes to control procedures.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Supervisory Quality Assurance Specialist, your resume and supporting documentation must support:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS- 11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after- competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut- off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
- Detecting conditions which may compromise quality such as errors in specifications or technical data packages.
- Applying specific product characteristics and attributes, including associated test procedures and equipment to detect deficiencies in various production/rework processing areas.
- Investigating deficiencies and initiates corrective action.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
