This position is located in the Division of Resolutions and Receiverships, in either the Dallas, TX Field Office, or HQ's office in Washington, DC of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the areas of actions that caused or contributed to the losses resulting in failure of a financial institution. Additional selections may be made from this vacancy announcement to fill identical vacancies that occur subsequent to this announcement.

Duties

Analyzes the most complex cases and related documentation, e.g., loan files, financial statements, audit/examination reports, and other failed bank/financial institution records, to determine possible Professional Liability claims.

Requirements

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the grade level 13 or above in the Federal service.  Specialized experience is defined as experience in at least (3) of the following: (1) leading the investigative process; (2) reviewing financial institutions’ documents to determine professional liability claims; (3) reviewing and completing professional liability financial analysis; (4) resolving issues found in the investigative process; (5) interacting with stakeholders to address investigatory findings; and (6) collecting documentation to prepare business cases, formal and informal correspondence, and investigative reports.
