This position is located in the Division of Resolutions and Receiverships (DRR), Dallas Regional Office of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the areas of data analysis and interpretation to develop insights that drive decision making for DRR. Additional selections may be made from this vacancy announcement to fill identical vacancies that occur subsequent to this announcement.

Duties

Serves as a specialist in analyzing and interpreting data to develop insights that drive decision making for DRR. Gathers, organizes, analyzes, and interprets financial and operational data to answer questions, resolve business challenges, and identify & mitigate risk. Works directly with colleagues and clients at all levels of the organization to understand business processes and analyze existing data sources to answer questions and provide business intelligence reports. Creates and maintains reports, visualizations, and dashboards for clients using a variety of business intelligence tools. Develops and designs presentations that interpret complex data and information into easy to understand graphs, charts, and visual graphics. Develops job aids, manuals, user guides, and other training materials. Develops and presents in-person training classes to colleagues and clients on business intelligence and reporting technologies.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.  Additional qualifications information can be found here.   To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG-14 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience developing reports and dashboard, designing intuitive data visualizations, writing database queries, analyzing data quality, transforming and cleansing data, and reconciling/validating results using WebFOCUS or Tableau.

There is no substitution of education for the experience for this position.
