About the Position: An Management Support Specialist for the US Army Corps of Engineers' Savannah Engineering Division, located in Savannah, GA. This position is within the Engineering Specialties Branch.
Duties
Serves as Engineering Division representative for coordination of recruitment and other personnel actions with CPAC.
Advises managers of regulatory, policy and process requirements for recruitment methods.
Reviews organizational requirements and conducts studies to develop short and long-term manpower requirements considering turnover, staffing trends, anticipated vacancies and retention deficiencies.
Prepare administrative reports, correspondence, and responses based upon knowledge of organization, regulatory requirements, engineering regulations, and administrative staff procedures.
Serve as Savannah District Intern Coordinator for the Construction, Engineering, and Infrastructure Career Field (CEI-CF).
Approves funding for training, labor, travel, and purchase of supplies and exercises procurement authority for credit card purchases of supplies and services.
Coordinates disciplinary actions and or performance related issues with CPAC.
Presents clear concise and well-structured briefings to division management that address issues involving manpower, staffing, training, and the administrative programs and requirements of the division.
Requirements

- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
- Must be able to lift documents or packages up to 15 lbs.
- Appointment may be subject to a probationary period of 1 year.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education/experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Assist Division staff with completing any human resources requirements by coordinating with the Civilian Personnel Advisory Center (CPAC); AND 2) Serve as Billing official for all Division purchases using the Government Purchase Card (GPC). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. [remove LL.B or J.D., if unrelated] in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
