Duties

This position starts at a salary of $103,409.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $134,435.00 (GS-13, Step 10). Salary: Salary listed reflects the rest of U.S. scale and, if applicable, will be adjusted to meet the locality pay or cost of living expenses of the duty location upon selection. While serving as a Supervisory Mission Support Specialist, your duties will include: Providing senior level advice in an administrative specialty area(s), as well as participating in and making contributions to management decisions in assigned program area, by applying a wide range of administration program concepts, laws, policies, practices, and analytical/diagnostic methods and techniques to address substantive technical issues or problems characterized by complex, controversial, and/or sensitive matters that contain several interrelated issues. Developing and delivering briefings, project papers status/staff reports, and correspondence to managers to foster understanding and acceptance of findings and recommendations towards new or modified administrative programs, work methods, approaches, or procedures for delivering effective services to customers. Supervising technical and administrative division which is a group of administrative employees who are responsible for assessing the productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency of program operations or who analyze and resolve problems in the effectiveness and efficiency of administrative support and staff activities with short- and long-term goals. Providing complex administrative services, including, but not limited to, management and information systems, budget, finance, procurement, personnel, telecommunications, logistics, records and files, printing, mail, travel, and office equipment; and Cooperating and carrying out EEO policies and programs; communicating and supporting employee diversity, inclusion, and engagement programs.

Qualifications

Experience: You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Advising management on budget execution against planned and forecasted operations, programs and fiscal goals; Providing guidance to staff and managers on various aspects of human resources including hiring authorities, types of appointments, overtime and leave entitlements; and Developing new or modified administrative program work methods, approaches for delivering effective services to customers. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. You must: Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 12/23/2024. The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. Current and former federal employees may be required to serve or complete a probationary period.
